Drummer Russell Scarborough is a well respected bandleader and recording artist in his own right. While working primarily as a jazz drummer for the last thirty years, Russell has also played in rock, country and rockabilly settings. He's won several awards for his music, and was named "Jazz Artist of the Year" by the readers of NineVolt Magazine in 2002.
The Russell Scarborough Quintet released Pollo Grande in 1995, and Russell released a quartet recording, First Annual in the fall of 2002. He is one of the best known jazz musicians in southeastern Virginia, and from his perch as the drum expert at Audio Light & Musical, he has assisted many other players in finding the right instrument to capture their own sound.
When Russell Scarborough is behind the drums, rhythmic excitement is always the rule.
